Dear Francois,
Thank you very much for the best RSS Software available for Iphone. I really appreciate the Google Reader Sync funtion.
However, I have a little criticism and a request.
The autorotation function usually makes reading very unconfortable, especially when you`re laying down.
Do you think it would be possible the function optional. I will really really appreciate that very much.
With all my best wishes,
Alp Berker
@Alp Berker : OK, I’ll do it for the next release (0.7) !
Thank you !
Hello,
a very good app and i really love RSS-Feeds now. But i miss the function to mark ALL feeds as read in one step….
All the best
Juergen
@Juergen: This will be done in a further version. Maybe the next one
Excellent RSS reader.
To improve:
- Web browser faster.
- Integration with Safari.
- Renew graphics.
Bug found: clicking on a link and then “Open” nothing happens!
Ottimo lettore di RSS.
Per migliorare:
- web browser più veloce.
- integrazione con safari.
- rinnovare grafica.
Bug riscontrato: premendo su un link e facendo “Open” non succede nulla!
@Squalo_85: OK, I will look at it
I agree with the integration of safari. Also, if there is a way to mark an item as unread, even if it has already been read, that would be helpful to sort thru them sometimes. Other than those, I love the app! Saves me tons of time in checking my favorite sites. Thanks!
really good app. but what’s about the new 3.0-features ???
like push-notification
other wishes:
shake to reload
and bockmarks-function
dear françois
the app is really pretty …
but i need some more feature:
- push notification
- bookmark function
- shuffle to refresh
best regards
joel
Really love RSS Runner, but really wih it had push. Is this something we can look forward to or is it too complex to be feasible?
@J, Joel and Rich: I am thinking about all of these possible features. In few days, I will post a news in this website to talk about the roadmap
I just submitted the version 0.7 to Apple: you’ll see that the feed sort bar is back. I have to delay my “much, much, much better idea” but this version will bring you several new features
Hi three! This is a very nice reader and one thing I think would enhance it even more (besides push/scheduled refresh) is some kind of indication within the story whether it’s new or has been read. As you arrow through the stories downward you don’t know when you’ve reached “old” ones. It could be something simple like the down arrow colour changing from green (next story is new) to red (next story is read) or change the shape of the down arrow…
Thanks very much!
T
@Timothy: this is a nice idea, I will study it ! Thanks !
Thanks for good job!
Just few wishes:
1. Please, add small preview (couple of strings) of feed in the «Feed items» list
2. Is it possible to make swipe for viewing next\prev feed item (or tap the left/right side of the screen like it works in “Stanza”)?
pls …
i need push and bookmarking …
@Sergey: Thanks, I will see what I can do !
I love your app! It’s a great, easy to use fetched and I love some of the features. Offline support is fantastic, the import tools are really useful, and the interface is clean and simple.
There are only a couple of things that I would suggest:
1. Safari integration.
A button to open a link in Safari straight from RSSRunner would be great.
2. The ability to export OPML files, possibly by email.
3. The ability to concurrently download multiple feeds, to speed up download/refresh operations.
4. Image caching. If, when downloading feed items, you could also have the option to download and cache images from within the feed item body.
I understand that they mightn’t all be possible, but they’d be great.
Once again, thanks for the great app.
@Alistair: Thank you. These are very nice ideas. I am thinking about what could provide next releases but I am very busy at this time so it is not easy
But all these ideas could be implemented in a further version !
… waiting for push notification (with option for each feed) …
comment to 0.8 :
the “favorite items” and the “unread items” aren’t sexy >>> the should be a button in the footer and not the same style as a feed …
@Joel: Thanks, I will see what I can do.
Best RSS app i’ve used! Great interface and simple to use.
Only problems I’ve found is emailing the links to myself and others, as well it would be nice if it was possible to also email ALL the favorite items to myself. I use the app mostly on the go and sometimes just want to overview the articles quickly and then go for a critical reading later at home.
Other than that, Keep up the great work.
@Lee: Thank you. This could be implemented in a further version
Dear Francois,
Congratulations on your application rss runner and the speed to load all the feeds and graphics application that I appreciate very much.
I have some suggestions to give you:
1) Check that dates and times are correct. Often the dates shown on the application does not reflect what the site which shows the news
2) Read through the “summary” give the opportunity to read all the feed, not just the title as often happens. recommend to download all the feeds without pictures, wallpaper, or anything that would complicate the whole. Reading only the title is sometimes not enough
When they made these changes that I believe will give you basic 5 stars.
Thank you and congratulations
@Domenico: thank you! Can you e-mail me some examples of issue #1 ?
Dear Francois,
Where can I send you screenshots so you can evaluate everything?
Thanks again …
@Domenico: contact ( at ) golden-apps.com
Dear Francois,
I just sent the screenshot.
Thank you very much.
Dear Francois,
I noticed that by setting “50″ items in the settings of your application in the “Unread Items” menu item, your application keeps stored a lot more items than I am about to set and then about 70 items but now tends to increase. I think you should delete them automatically in order to keep them between 50 news read and unread so you always have a situation clean and tidy, do you think?
I hope that is clear and I apologize for my English that comes from Google Translate
Thank you very much
@Domenico: These are two different things. Rss Runner automatically deletes feed items so that only 100 items are kept per feed. And you have also an additional feature that allows you to configure unread items to display in the dedicated screen (accessed via the “Unread items” menu item). These are different things because “Unread items” screen concerns items of all feeds. Do you understand what I mean ?
@Francois
hank you very much.
If I confirm that RssRunner automatically delete all messages from the older once it reaches the 100 items then for me it’s ok.
I think that they accumulate indefinitely, and since there is no way to delete them I did not know how.
The setup that I have highlighted then to the quantity of items that I decide to play in lsta of items to read, right?
Thank you, and apologize again.
@Domenico: it automatically deletes feed items so that only 100 items are kept per feed. So they do not accumulate indefinitely.
Hi. Yeah, as others have said this is a brilliant feed reader, love it!
The only thing I find missing is a back button for the webpage view. If you view an article page, then follow a link, you can’t seem to get back to the article.
But keep up the great work – we’re very appreciative.
Simon.
Dear François,
congrats for your very usefull app. I can’t spend a day without opening it (usually while having my morning coffee, lol).
I have only one suggestion: would it be possible to add a “share on Facebook” or twitter option for favourite articles?
Thanks a lot for your work!
@Simon: thanks. I think I could add this “back button” in a further version, stay tuned
@Julien: thanks too. Facebook and Twitter share options could be added in a further version too
Thank for this great App which I am using every single day. Just one request if you could add the feature to jump from article to the next using the swipe horizontally, this will make it much smoother since the icons in the upper right are so small and right next to each other. Thanks again and I wish the best of luck.
Dear François,
Rss Runner is the best rss reader I found for the iPhone. Thanks for your work and congratulations.
Let me suggest a feature I found on other readers I tried in the past:
when you mark as read the articles in a “Feed items” page, it would be nice if the screen went automatically back to the main page (Feeds) without having to touch the “Feeds” button on the upper left corner. That’s anyway the only logical action, and the only permitted; if it was automatic, it would make the app even more friendly.
Best Regards,
Alessandro
I would like to be able to read the whole headline. As it is now you need to have a very small font size to see it and still only in landscape mode. I don’t mind if it takes a little more space in the overview section, I still like to see the whole headline instead of clicking the feed item only to notice it wasn’t anything interesting. This could easily be an option, couldn’t it?
Thanks for a great app!
@Abdulaziz, Alessandro, Cecilia : Thank you, these are nice ideas
