Apple just accepted the version 0.81 of RSS Runner.
I added an option in application Settings to hide the “Favorite items” special item on the main screen (as you can do for the “Unread items” special item).
Let me remind you that you can find RSS Runner settings in the Settings application, which is in the home screen of your device.

If only marking feed items as read took you back to the list of feeds (just like Newsgator used to), this would make this app perfect!
The recent update has made me happy again. I always felt the favourites should have been accessible via an icon at the bottom of the screen and not where it was, at the top taking up too much space.
Thank you for a great free app that I use daily!
^^^ I meant NetNewsWire, not Newsgator ^^^
Nice update. I normally don’t use the “Favorite”, “Unread” and the feed sort option, so being able to hide them is really good!
Would be nice if the news title can be upto 2 lines when in the feed list view. Adjusting the font to “Small” makes the reading of the news in the list easy, but since there is only 1 font setting, the actual font size of the news content is also “Small” and not so legible.
How about allowing zoom when reading the news article?
@Anon, Boon: Thank you
@Boon: OK, I will think about this.
Its best application for to read rss. But as a reader i’m to provide several feature requests.
So some of them
- are there plans to support PSHB (http://code.google.com/p/pubsubhubbub/)?
- it’d be nice to keep track of what was read and was marked as read without actually reading.
- keep work on favs – it could be structured by tags or raiting (like itunes songs)
- feed groupings – i have around 250 feeds in my reader so its a pain to scroll all that list to read most frequently updated
- automatic feed groupings – maybe your app can track reading patterns for feeds and make some groupings based on it
I’ve some other reqs but they are more complex to describe, so maybe some other time.
Anyway, your RSS Runner for now is best for feed reading =)
@ivanko: thank you for all these interesting ideas ! I will think about them! Do not hesitate to email me your more complex ideas
Again! please add back butoon to browser view
Why i can click If I can’t go back!
Thank you!
please keep it simple, great app thanks
@Tito: Thank you
hi,
great app and update. however i seem to have hit some limit and the manually constructed google news feeds aren’t bringing new content anymore, after a while. or maybe something else going on. anyhow, good work.
cheers from australia
Downloaded it just now & i’m love it. simple, fast & NO ads!
Hi,
Great functionality, but I have a problem with legibility. In “Feed Item”, the title of the item is very small and changing the size setting doesn’t seem to change it’s size.
Also, the contrast of the title color and the background color is very small. I’d really appreciate a “Clear” alternative in the “Theme” setting, that would use black letters and very light backgrounds.
My eyes are getting old…
finally, after several weeks feeds are feeding again, including the default apple feed. is that something done at your end François?
anyway, cheers
Chris
@NaxeruL: Thanks
@Peder: OK, I will think about it.
@Chris: I’ve done anything!
Francois, I am sure that I am crazy. How do I delete content from the feed itself? Please help.
I can’t find ur app anymore in App-store. Very best rss reader I find ever
@Brad: Thanks

@Dave O: You can manually delete feeds by editing them but feed items are automatcally deleted so that only 100 items are kept per feed.
very successful program with a single push notification eksigi
When will support push
Hi Francois,
For the time being i’m reverting to another RSS feed app, as RSS Runner still keeps missing lots of feed items for me. These are mostly very simple google news feeds with terms such as “biomimicry” or “biochar”. The source feeds (xml) shows more feed items than RSS Runner is producing. Maybe they’re not 100% valid feeds or such but, in the end, i don’t get to read the feed updates i’m interested in. Hope you get a chance to have a look.
Cheers
Chris
Francois,
You advised Dave O he could ‘manually delete feeds by editing them.’ How is this done? I see no ‘edit’ command. Thanks.
Francois,
Disregard. I was within a feed subscription. Would be nice to delete individual feeds without deleting the subscription.
