I just released the version 0.85 with several new features and now here is the version 0.86 !

Now the “Feeds” screen presents ads. It will help me in providing you better functionalities.

IF YOU DO NOT WANT THESE ADS TO BE DISPLAYED, YOU CAN HIDE THEM IN THE APPLICATION SETTINGS.

[Update] There is a bug that prevent you from hiding ads in landscape mode even if you ask to. I just want to let you know that this is bug and I already submitted a fix to Apple (version 0.87). Please wait few days ;-)

[Update, 19-01-2010] The version 0.87 is available on App Store. The bug is now fixed !

The newest version of RSS Runner has been kicking me back to the home screen. I’ve tried deleting and reinstalling the app and the problem still remains. I never had a problem before the upgrade(with ads).

@Sean : This is strange. Can you try to change some settings in order to see if there is any configuration that does not make the application crash ? Tell me your results by e-mail, I’ll see what I can do. Thank’s

First – great app. Was a revelation to me when a) I discovered RSS and b) soon after found RSS Runner to be the easiest to use and best, can’t read stuff any other way now!.

Unfortunately, a potential bug in 0.86 – when using the “location services” (presumably to target the new ad function) the GPS doesn’t appear to turn off either straight away after acquiring the location or on app exit. This leads to greatly reduced battery life when using v0.86 of RSS Runner, unless you select “don’t allow” for location services.
Anyone else found this? It’s the only thing that seems to have changed to deliver the rapid battery loss for me, and selecting ‘don’t allow’ seems to prevent it beginning…
Cheers
Dave

@Dave : Thank you for your comment. I will contact AdMob to check if they know about this problem.

For 1.99 I’d buy the ad-free version. I’m leaving them on b/c they support you but I’d rather buy the ‘pro’ version of the app. Thx.

A feature request – if we exit RSS runner when halfway through an article, the next time RSS Runner is opened, can it go back to the same spot (eg as the NY Times app does)?

Sometimes I have to quickly exit, but then the article counts as unread, then I have to remember which feed it was in and refind, then scroll down if it was a big one… etc.

Am I just getting greedy here? : )

@Vince CA : You can hide ads in the Settings of the application.

@Dave : This is a nicea idea, I may provide it ! Thanks !
